Australia enjoys a very healthy lottery market, with a large number of different draws taking place each week. Australian Monday Lotto is one of this.
Players pay for a ticket and select six numbers from 1 to 45. They must match all six main numbers drawn in order to win the Division 1 prize for Australian Monday Lotto. In addition to these six numbers, two supplementary numbers are then drawn from the same pot in order to provide additional chances for players to win prizes for Australian Monday Lotto.
In total, 8 balls are drawn of which the first 6 are the winning numbers. The last 2 balls are the supplementary numbers. These supplementary balls are used to determine prizes in Divisions 2 and 5.
Monday Lotto currently offers a fixed top prize of AU$1 million for up to four players in a single draw. If there are more than four Division 1 winners, then they will share a prize pool of AU$4 million equally.
The chance of winning a Division One prize in Monday Lotto is 1 in 8,145,060. Every Monday from 21 October 2013, Monday Lotto will now guarantee a $1 million Division 1 prize pool for up to four winners (previously two). Monday Lotto is drawn weekly at 8:30pm (AEST) on Monday nights. Entries close Monday 7:00pm (AEST).
